Repeat Prescriptions
You can order repeat prescriptions online:
Please do not make an appointment with a Doctor for repeat prescriptions.
You can either post the request in the letterbox of the surgery front door or order from your pharmacy.
You must order any repeat prescriptions from your nominated pharmacy up to one week before your medication runs out.
Please be aware prescriptions take 2 to 3 working days to be processed from pharmacy to surgery. It then takes up to two working days for your request to be actioned.
Patients on regular medication will need repeat prescriptions. If you have more than one repeat prescription, please try and order all your items together.
Housebound patients only, may make a request by phoning the surgery on 0121 526 2233 after 10.00am.
If you prefer, we can post the prescription back to you. You will need to provide a stamped, addressed envelope and this will depend on the medication. Or we can hand your prescription direct to one of the Chemists that collect prescriptions from us.
Urgent Prescription Policy
Leaving your medication order late is not advised because we cannot guarantee urgent requests immediately.
In order to provide safe and fair service to all our patients urgent requests will be passed to a GP and the item will be issued if required during that day electronically via Electronic Prescription Service.
You can also take your repeat prescription counterfoil to your usual pharmacy and they can issue you with a small quantity to tide you over until your repeat prescription is issued; there may be a charge for this.
We will not issue urgent prescriptions for items that can be bought over the counter.
Nominating a pharmacy
You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- Online, on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- At your GP practice
- At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
